Dr Kgaugelo Chiloane is a professionally registered Environmental Scientist with more than 15 years consulting, research, advisory, education and awareness experience in various environmental and sustainability fields including Air Quality, Climate Change, Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Green Economy, Waste and Water Management.

She currently holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Science specialising in Air Quality and Climate Change (North West University (Potchefstroom Campus); a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Environmental Science a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree and Honours in Chemistry from the University of the Witwatersrand. Dr Chiloane worked for various organisations holding senior and executive management positions providing Air Quality, Climate Change, Sustainability and Environmental Management advisory, research and consulting expertise. She is the Founder and Executive Director of KEC Environmental Solutions (Pty) Ltd (trading as KECES), and the co-founder of Adaptation Institute of Southern Africa (AISA). She served as the Member and Chairperson of the South African Adaptation Network Steering Committee between 2017 and 2019. 

Dr Chiloane served as a part time Lecturer of an Environmental Science Module on Climate change policies and implementation in SA – SA’s Just Transition Pathway) and a Co – Supervisor of MSc postgraduate students at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and University of South Africa (UNISA). She is currently a Supervisor of the Honours Environmental Research Module at UNISA, and an External Examiner and Moderator of Masters research and modules at the African Energy Leadership Centre at the University of the Witwatersrand Business School. She has published scientific articles in various local and international journals. She serves as a Technical and Business Mentor at The Innovation Hub (TIH) Climate Innovation Centre (CIC) providing support and guidance to incubated entrepreneurs in building their business concepts and prototypes. Dr Chiloane serves as a non-Executive Director of Boards and an Independent Member of the Advisory Panels of various organisations in South African.
